MATERIALS.
All Muck & Meddle jewellery is crafted using 100% fine and sterling silver. While there is an emphasis on sea glass some pieces include other precious or semi-precious gems such as solid Australian opals, sapphires and reclaimed freshwater pearls. All are ethically sourced from reputable Australian suppliers or hand-picked from coastlines along my travels.So what is sea glass? Sometimes referred to as beach glass, it is not necessarily from the sea but any discarded glass that has been physically and chemically altered through natural weathering. This occurs during years of tumbling against shores, riverbanks and ocean floors. As it is naturally shaped each piece of sea glass is uniquely one-of-a-kind - created by humans and refined by nature.
The combination of nature's intervention on human debris, working together to produce this precious gem-like material, is what makes sea glass so unique.
SIZING.
Australian/UK alphabetical sizing is the standard I use to determine ring sizes. Use my ring sizing guide to help find the one that's right for you or have your fingers measured locally (this is the best way to ensure accuracy.)
Necklace lengths are unique and written in the product description along with most earring lengths.
Please make sure you are confident in your size before purchasing as I do not offer resizing and all sales are final. Depending on its complexity a local jeweller may be able to modify the piece but if you have any concerns I am more than happy to help - just get in touch.
CARE.
Solid sterling silver will oxidise over time as it comes in contact with oils, chemicals, and oxygen.
To keep your treasures sparkling it's best to avoid soaps, perfumes, and skincare products. I recommend removing your jewellery before showering, sleeping, and exercise; and keep away from harsh chemicals such as chlorine.
Clean your pieces with a silver cleaning cloth, or gently wash in warm soapy water using a soft cloth and dish soap. Dry completely before storing in a cool, dry place.
Keep in mind your piece may scratch a little if worn regularly but, with proper care, solid sterling silver jewellery can last a lifetime.
SHIPPING.
Most pieces are available ready to ship and will be dispatched within 3 business days. Production time on made-to-order pieces may take 1-4 weeks depending on the complexity and workload. Everything is handmade slowly by me so please keep this in mind when ordering!
$10 AUD flat rate standard shipping within Australia (typically 2 - 10 working days after dispatch)
$25 AUD flat rate standard shipping Worldwide (typically 10 - 30 working days after dispatch)
Please allow for additional delays to remote areas or during busy holiday seasons.
All jewellery is sent in FSC cardboard boxes and delivered through Australia Post. An email will be sent with a tracking number, please refer tracking inquiries to your courier as once items are dispatched there’s not much I can do.
Muck & Meddle is not responsible if details are incorrect or the parcel is lost or stolen on delivery so please make sure your shipping address is current and secure. Some international shipments may be subject to import taxes, these are the responsibility of the recipient, and customs processing in your country may add to the delivery time.
RETURNS.
Due to the nature and labor of handcrafting orders all sales are final unless pieces are faulty on arrival. As an independent maker, I take care to make sure each item is of high quality, however, if you find that your jewellery has a manufacturing fault I am happy to offer a resolution by way of repair or refund. This does not include damage due to normal wear and tear, or misuse, and I cannot cover the cost of return shipping.
